Miramar, San Diego
Get on the line.
Coach-led CrossFit in Miramar for military, professionals, and anyone who's been putting this off for too long. Six classes a day, Monday through Friday.
Who trains here
Three types of people. One gym that works for all of them.
Military & Veterans
You already know what hard work looks like. You want the civilian equivalent of structured PT, coached, competitive, and surrounded by people who take it seriously. MCAS Miramar is two miles away and a significant part of this membership is active duty, veterans, and military families. You'll fit in immediately.
Miramar Professionals
You work on the corridor, defense, biotech, aerospace, tech. You have 45 minutes at lunch or you're up at 5 AM because that's the only time that's yours. Six class times a day, Monday through Friday. One hour in, coached hard, back to your desk before the 10 AM standup.
First-Timers
You've thought about CrossFit for a year. You think you need to get in shape before you start. You don't. Foundations exists for exactly this reason, two coached sessions before you ever step on the group floor. Every person already training here was standing exactly where you are right now.
What an hour looks like
Every class runs the same structure. You always know what you're walking into.
Warm-Up
10–15 minutes. Coach-led. Specific to the workout you're about to do, not just a jog around the floor. Your body knows the difference.
Strength or Skill Work
15–20 minutes. Lifting heavier or practicing a movement. The coach breaks it down, corrects your form, and scales the load to where you actually are, not where you wish you were.
The Workout
10–20 minutes. This is the part people show up for. Conditioning, intensity, effort. Scaled to where you actually are. Everyone works hard. Everyone finishes.
Done
You're out in an hour. Cool down, talk to the person next to you, or get straight back to your day. No one's keeping you. The next class needs the floor.
Programs
Three offerings. No confusion.
CrossFit Classes
The main product. Coach-led group classes, every session. Complete beginners and experienced athletes train in the same class. Workouts scale to where you are so everyone gets a real workout. One hour, every time.
- 6 classes daily, Monday–Friday
- 2 classes Saturday morning
- Scaled to your level every session
- Real coaching, not a playlist
Foundations
Two personal one-on-one sessions before you hit the group floor. You learn the core movements, you do a real workout each time, and you show up to your first group class knowing exactly what you're doing. Required for beginners. Waivable for experienced CrossFitters.
- 2 personal coached sessions
- Core CrossFit movements
- Real workout each session
- Fully at your pace
Open Gym
Floor access for members outside scheduled class times. Use it for extra skill work, makeup sessions, or training on your own terms when a class slot doesn't fit the day. No coach required, but they're around.
- Members only
- Flexible access hours
- Coaches available if needed
- Included with membership
You don't need to be fit to start.
CrossFit has a reputation for being intense. It is. It's also completely scalable, the weight, the movement, the pace, which means someone in their first week and someone who's been training for five years can share a class and both get a hard workout.
Foundations exists so your first group class isn't your first time seeing a barbell. Two sessions, one-on-one with a coach, before you step onto the floor with everyone else. By the time you walk into your first group class you'll know the movements, you'll know the structure, and you won't feel lost.
Every person on that floor started somewhere. Most of them were convinced they weren't ready either.
Book your first classSix classes a day. Two on Saturday.

The coaches
Certified. Experienced. Actually in the room with you.
Illa Haley
CF-L1 · USAW-L1 · MS Exercise Science
Illa played competitive softball at Humboldt State, then spent years coaching strength and conditioning at the Division I level — including a stint at the University of Tennessee and a graduate assistant role at San Jose State. She coaches the way she competes: no self-doubt allowed, no quitting. There is nothing she wants more than to make you better.
Suellen Goncalves
CF-L1 · ACE-CPT · BS Psychology
Suellen came to CrossFit in 2019 and was competing within a year. She moved from Brazil to San Diego to pursue a master's in Organizational Psychology and found Fortius in 2022 — it became her happy place fast. Her background in leadership development means she reads people well, coaches with energy and intention, and makes hard classes feel good to be in.
Mike Martin
CF-L2 · USAW-L1 · 20+ Year Army Veteran
Mike spent over two decades in the US Army — including a deployment to Iraq where he found CrossFit and never looked back. He's completed every CrossFit HQ Hero WOD Rx. He knows what it means to train when everything is hard, and he coaches with that same understanding: meet people where they are, then push them past it.
Megan Toronto
CF-L1 · 2023 Semifinals Team
Megan found CrossFit in 2014 when competitive soccer ended and she needed somewhere to put the competitive drive. Ten years later she's competed at the Semifinals level. She started as a complete beginner — terrible shoulder mobility, couldn't overhead squat an empty bar — which is exactly why she's so good at coaching people who are right at the beginning.
Gigi Redman
CF-L2 · USAW-L1 · 9 Years CrossFit
Gigi wasn't athletic growing up — she ran solo, did yoga, avoided team sports. A friend dragged her to CrossFit and she hasn't left since. She gravitated to weightlifting immediately and started coaching during the pandemic, running small group sessions for colleagues. Her coaching priority is technique before load, every time. Your victory is her victory.
Built in Miramar for the people who live here.
CrossFit Flightline is at 7550 Miramar Road, built around one idea: serious, coach-led training that fits a real schedule. Six classes a day, Monday through Friday. A coach in the room for every one of them.
Miramar is full of people with demanding days, military, professionals, engineers, parents, who want to train hard and get back to the rest of their life. Everything about this gym is built around that.
The coaches are certified, experienced, and actually present. They'll know your name by your third class.

Questions
What happens during my first class?
A coach runs the whole thing. You'll warm up with the class, learn the movements for that day, and train alongside everyone else with the workout scaled to fit you. It's a real class, not a tour, not an intro sales pitch. Text (619) 494-3088 to set it up.
Do I need CrossFit experience to join?
No. Foundations is built for people who've never done CrossFit. Two one-on-one coached sessions covering the core movements, you'll do a real workout each time. By the end you'll know exactly what you're doing before you step into your first group class.
Is Foundations mandatory?
For complete beginners, yes. If you've been doing CrossFit and have solid movement foundations, we'll do a quick screen and get you into group classes directly. The goal is setting you up to succeed, not putting unnecessary barriers in your way.
I'm already in good shape. Will this actually challenge me?
Yes. The programming is built for people who've been training seriously for years, the weights, the movements, and the pacing reflect that. The coaching, the structure, and the group environment will push you in ways solo training doesn't. You'll find things here that challenge you, and people who will push you harder than you'd push yourself alone.
Do you have a military community?
MCAS Miramar is two miles away. A significant part of the membership is active duty, veterans, and military families. If you're coming from the base you'll find people who know exactly what structured, hard training looks like. Text us about military membership options.
How much does membership cost?
We don't post pricing publicly, it depends on membership type and what works for your schedule. Text (619) 494-3088 or use the form above. No hidden fees, no hard-to-cancel contracts.
Can I drop in if I'm visiting San Diego?
Yes. Text (619) 494-3088 before you come in to confirm times and get current drop-in rates. We ask for at least one month of CrossFit experience. Show up, train, get on with your day.
What should I bring to my first class?
Athletic clothes, training or cross-training shoes, and water. The coach handles everything else. No gear, no equipment, and no prior knowledge required.
